Job Summary

Under direct supervision, learn and perform basic skills and functions related to fabrication of aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn entry-level technical skills and knowledge, regulatory requirements, and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking.
  • Develop proficiency in preparation and making of furniture using standard safety and operating procedures, design/engineering drawings, tools, and materials.
  • Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off completed work.
  • Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, use personal protective equipment, and ensure aircraft interior is protected.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of related initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Woodworking, wood finishing, or auto body and painting experience in a technical environment preferred.
  • Completion of Technical Certificate in cabinet making or youth apprenticeship program in area of expertise preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
  • Must be computer literate

Unique Requirements

  • Furniture or cabinet making experience preferred, working with hardwoods, veneers, and/or plastic laminate.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including 1st, 2nd, and weekend shifts, with flexibility to assist in other shifts as needed.
